Kiya at 18 Months

My baby is 18 months old! I can't believe I have a toddler. She is now in nursery, yea! We were at the pool the other day, I was watchin her play and realized her "chubbines" is going away - like the little rolls around her ankles and wrists and knees - yep they're gone.! She'll always be my baby, but she's becoming more of a "kid" everyday :( I don't know what her stats are right now, we're waiting til after the summer when we're back in AZ to get her 18 month shots and all that. But if I were to guess she's probably 22 lbs, and she's pretty tall - I get that a lot from people, that they think she's tall. She is such a friendly little person, when we go to the store she says "hi hi, bye bye" to everyone and waves and gives them her best cheesy smile! Favorite foods - depends on the day, one day we love something, and the next, who knows! But she just discovered she loves watermelon (which she definitely got from my side - my family eats watermelon like nobody's biz), she likes yogurt, grilled cheese, CANDY, string cheese, fruit snacks, popcorn, and ice cubes. She has always shown her excitement with her legs, when she was an infant and she got excited those cute little legs would kick like crazy. Now she 'runs' in place, I guess that's the best way to describe it! When she's proud of herself she gets this smile on her face, and swings her little arms back and forth. She loves balls (what kid doesn't right!), she gets excited when we see them in the store (Walmart knows where to freakin put them so the kids'll see em), on TV - she'll watch b-ball with daddy and say "ball ball ball", and yesterday at church she saw the basketball hoop in the gym and kept sayin ball, she thinks that the watermelon and cantalope mommy buys are balls, and loves the huge "balls" in front of Target! She loves the outside (again what kid doesn't), she'll bring me her shoes to put on and then go to the front door and knock on it and so go go go. She loves night night time, I swear she gets so excited, she gets her blanky and I give her binky (which is only for sleep now), and she runs into her room and reaches up to get into bed, after I lay her in there and tuck her in, she has the biggest smile on her face and kicks those cute legs like she's so pleased. I know I'm going on and on about it, but I just think it's so hilarious - aren't toddlers supposed to hate bedtime?! Words she is saying - hi, shoes, bye, my mama, hi daddy, go, ball, out, bath, woof, papa (grandpa) - I know I'm forgetting some, but those are the favorites. She's VERY active, but she's a really good kid. She loves climbing - the table, the toilet, the diswasher, stairs, crib, bed, couch, bathtub, into the empty dresser drawer to get into the stuff on top of the dresser (just figured that one out yesterday), if she can climb it she's on top of it :) Kiya's routine - bedtime 8/9:00 and sleeps until 8:30 usually and then just plays in her crib until mama or daddy gets her (this I love and am going to hang on to as long as I can, because it means that I get to sleep in a little longer!) and she takes a nap at 1/2:00 for a good two hours. Kiya loves dogs and cats and birds and books - she'll now go get books for mama or daddy to read to her. If you catch her in the right mood she gives the best kisses, and lovins - she doesn't stay for long but will give good cuddles. She cuddles the longest with daddy, he can get her to lay on the bed with him and cuddle for even a good half hour (which is like 5 hours in toddler time). She's really good at sharing anything and everything, except her blanky. Which is a five dollar purple Walmart blanky that I won at family bingo. Isn't that how it goes, I have so many beautiful blankets for the girl and that ones her favorite. She loves shoes (girl after my own heart) and has just started putting my heels on and walks around saying bye. So obviously I could go on and on, and have. But I truly feel so incredibly blessed that my Father in Heaven trusts me with this sweet little girl. She is such a blessing in our home, and she brings Lance and I such joy I can't even begin to explain. I love you my Kiya, more than I can ever say.

Goin to the pool, in March!? Gotta love AZ!

Lookin Good!
Before we left Kiya learned how to go down the slide all by herself (and was very proud of the fact) This playground in our neighborhood is practically right across the street from our house and it's a "toddler" one so it's just her size, she LOVEs it!

She learned to do this a few months ago, hide from mommy, and thinks it's hilarious!
So I'm cleaning out my closet one day, doing some major DI, and come back in to this. She's cleared off the top of my shoe rack, and is very proud of herself (swinging arm and everything). I say "Where's Kiya?" . . . . . .
"There she is!"
Having a toddler is so completely random sometimes . . . . actually A LOT of the time!

I love that during the summer we practically live out of bins lol! She pushes these out and plays under the bathroom sink.

Before anyone gets totally grossed out that A. my baby is playing in the garbage can, and B. that I'm letting her do it and for long enough to take pictures - the can was brand new, not that it being used stops her from trying to do this again.
Sunday night movie and popcorn with mommy. She actually sat there for a good half of the movie watching and eating popcorn.
And what we do after the popcorn is finished.
Chuckin stuff off the table. I tuck the chairs under the table and that stops her, until she figures out how to pull the chairs out.
This was a first, and she hasn't done it again, but just walked into the room and there she is standing on the toilet.
Oh yeah, there's that cheesy grin we all know and love!
She does this at least a few times a day. Puts on mommy's hat and purse and walks around saying bye bye byeeee.

I can't believe how much she has changed! I loved reading about all the fun things she does now. It's different raising a toddler, isn't it?! Never a dull moment! She looks so dang cute going down that slide, such a big girl! After the summer her and Avery are going to have WAY too much fun together. It might be a wild combination with them two! It's so funny cuz looking at those pics reminded me of my first summer in Des Moines and just having my little man Jace with me. Wow, time flies! Hope you are still enjoying Alabama, can't wait to see you back in AZ!
